Yes. It was suppose to take over completely in a few years and pretty much make everyones computer a dumb terminal, with all computing power being within the cloud. Not sure I want to give up that kind of power and privacy yet though! For example, Google Docs and Zoho allow people access to Microsoft Office type functionality all from within a web page. they are free and no downloads are required. soon we will not have to install anything on our computers - it will all be in the cloud. there are many sites that are available now that do things that years ago only local applications could do.
